The First Congregational United Church of Christ in downtown Portland hosted an open house to celebrate the opening of the Do Good Veteran Shelter on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. The shelter, located at 1126 S.W. Park Ave, is open seven nights per week and can accommodate up to 13 Veterans (male only).

Veterans must be referred by agencies or individuals and they must be able to verify Veteran status. Service and companion animals are welcomed. To refer a Veteran, please call 503-490-7298 or email [email protected].
