Point in time Count

The point-in-time count of homelessness in Portland and Multnomah County provides a snapshot of the individuals and families experiencing homelessness on a given night in our community.

Data collected from the count ensures our community’s continued eligibility for state and federal funding and helps the City of Portland, Multnomah County and their nonprofit partners plan for the funding and services required to meet the needs of people experiencing homelessness in our community.

Data for the point-in-time count comes from the Street Count and the One Night Shelter Count, sponsored by the Joint Office of Homeless Services. The city, county, and hundreds of community partners work together to gather the data for the counts and produce a comprehensive summary report.

The next point-in-time count is scheduled for JANUARY 26, 2022.
